The Mercedes-Benz SLR has received a complete foil wrap from CUT48 and a power boost from Edo Competition. Specialized in providing foil wraps, CUT48 says this blue and black
gloss wrapping for the SLR is available for a steep 4,350 EUR
(approximately 5,800 USD), but for a person who owns such a car money is
no object.
Aside from the new look, the hand-built AMG V8 engine has received a
power increase from the standard 626 HP (460 kW) to 722 HP (531 kW)
courtesy of Edo Competition. The torque figure has also jumped from 580
lb-ft (780 Nm) to 656 lb-ft (890 Nm). This was possible by remapping the
ECU, compressor tweaks, installing a new exhaust manifold and
customizing the intake system.
As a result, the supercar is able to hit 200 km/h (124 mph) in less
than 10 seconds and it will keep on going until it reaches an
electronically limited top speed of 345 km/h (214 mph).
When you have a Mercedes McLaren SLR and a lot of cash to spare, we
could think of more tasteful things to do, but flamboyant Swiss
businessman Ueli Anliker decided to use it for this extravagant
creation.
Making its first appearance
at Tuning World Bodensee last year, the vehicle is now named the
‘Anliker McLaren SLR 999 Red Gold Dream'. Anliker spent a total of
30,000 man hours and £3.5 million. It has been garnished with 25 layers
of red paint and 5kg of gold. The wheels, headlights and door sills are
covered with 24 carat gold and the inside the cabin we can find 600
rubies worth £300,000. Anliker states the power unit under the hood started with a maximum
output of 640bhp (480 kW / 650Php) which suggests this model was once
the SLR 722 edition. It has now been boosted to 999bhp (745 kW / 985 PS) and has a top speed of 210mph (338kph). Ueli Anliker will not sell the exclusive model for anything less than £7 million (€8.2 million / $10.8 million).
The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren has been turned into this 'world's
fastest SLR' by a partnership that includes Platinum Motorsport,
RENNtech, MACarbon and Exotics Boutique.
The body aerodynamics come courtesy of the Mansory Renovatio Body Kit
while RENNtech supplies the performance upgrade which includes a
modified supercharger. Output is around 770 hp (574 kW / 781 PS) and
this SLR does the quarter-mile in 10.29 seconds at a speed of 134 mph
(216 km/h).
RENNtech also upgrades the transmission hardware to accommodate a smoother transfer of all that power to the drive wheels.
For the suspension RENNtech adds Racing Coilovers with 3-way
adjustability as well as an hydraulic lift kit that adjusts the height
by 45 mm.
Wheels are the 20-inch Agetro M140 monoblock rims.
This SLR will be on display at SEMA in Las Vegas next month.

HLS 2 (Hydraulic Lift System) provides additional road clearance for
lowered vehicles by raising the front axle suspension via the push of a
button. When expanded, a range of up to 45 mm of lift is produced,
thereby helping sport cars avoid road clearance difficulties such as
speed bumps, road construction, etc. The system contained within the
rear of the vehicle and is actuated by a push button on the optional

Dressed in matte black with 21-inch alloy wheels, the bespoke supercar features a supercharged 5.5-liter V8 that has been outfitted with a revised air intake, a stainless steel sport exhaust system, and an optimized ECU. Thanks to all these tweaks, the engine produces 722 PS (531 kW / 712 PS) and 890 Nm (656 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) in 24.5 seconds, and onto a limited top speed of 345 km/h (214 mph). Power output of the standard 722 Edition is 650 PS (478 kW / 641 bhp).
Besides the performance modifications, edo added an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, carbon fiber trim, and a new infotainment system with GPS navigation and Bluetooth/iPod connectivity.
