ABT Sportsline has released an upgrade kit for the most powerful diesel version of the Golf VII, the GTD.
It starts with a power lift for the 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder mill from
the series 184 HP (135 kW) to 210 HP (155 kW) while torque has gone up
from 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) to 430 Nm (317 lb-ft). To match the additional
oomph, ABT has installed a four-tailpipe exhaust system and larger 18-
or 19-inch alloy wheels.
No performance figures have been released, but we remind you the
standard model does 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 7.5 seconds with the
six-speed manual, en route to a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).
Other noticeable changes include an aero kit comprising of a front
spoiler, front grille, side skirts, trunk lid attachment, rear skirt
insert, along with new headlight and mirror covers.
