The
aftermarket
scene has an unquenchable thirst for more power and when the tuner’s
name even includes the word “power,” you can imagine many efforts are
being made to squeeze extra output from the engine. In this case, we are
dealing with a
BMW M6
Gran Coupe with its already 560-hp strong 4.4-liter V8 that has now been tweaked by G-Power.
There are multiple power stages available, with the strongest of them
all adding 180 hp (132 kW) for a grand total of 740 hp (544 kW). The
four-door coupe also receives a healthy torque boost from the series 501
pound-feet (680 newton meters) to a tire-shredding 720 lb-ft (975 Nm).
Thanks to the added punch, the M6 Gran Coupe will conquer the 0-124 mph
(0-200 kph) sprint in as little as 10.5 seconds before topping out at
203 mph (325 kph).
If you don’t want to go all out, but at the same time you’re not entirely satisfied with the stock
BMW
output, G-Power has lesser and more affordable kits bumping the number
of ponies to 650 hp and 700 hp. If you do go for the range-topping
package, the tuner will throw in a custom exhaust system that not only
provides a meaner soundtrack, but at the same time is 22 pounds (10
kilograms) lighter.
