Gemballa has introduced its new GT. Based on the McLaren 650S,
the model features a subtle carbon fiber body kit that includes new
side skirts which give the car a "lower and sleeker" appearance. The
coupe has also been equipped with a new rear bumper that features an
integrated diffuser which promises to reduce lift. The changes sound
relatively minor but Gemballa says they help to provide additional
downforce for increased cornering speeds.
A closer inspection reveals 20- / 21-inch GForged-one lightweight
alloy wheels. In order to ensure the wheels fit properly, Gemballa
installed new carbon-fiber inner wheel arches which provide additional
space for the enlarged wheels.
Owners looking to spruce up the McLaren's interior can order a
bespoke cabin that has everything from premium leather upholstery to
special floor mats.
On the performance front, the GT has been equipped with an optimized
ECU which enables the biturbo 3.8-liter V8 engine to produce 670
horsepower and 536 pound-feet of torque. This presents an increase of
20 hp and 36 lb-ft of torque. Gemballa declined to say how faster the
car is but the standard McLaren 650S accelerates from 0-62 miles per
hour in 3.0 seconds before hitting a top speed of 207 mph.
The entire performance package costs $38,286 (€33,900) and includes VAT.
