Mugen tunes the Honda Civic

Mugen has introduced a new styling program for the ninth-generation Honda Civic. Designed to emphasize the car's sporty characteristics, Mugen offers an aerodynamic body kit with a two-piece front spoiler, revised side skirts, a rear bumper insert and a prominent rear wing. Customers can also order a body-color "sports" grille, Mugen badging and a variety of 17-inch alloy wheels.

The company also offers window vents and a stainless steel sports exhaust system for models equipped with the 1.8-liter engine and a five-speed manual transmission. The styling accessories will go on sale shortly but there's no word on pricing.

Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR concept new details

Originally unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the car features an aggressive M-TEC body kit with a carbon fiber hood, doors and tailgate. Other highlights include a dual exhaust system, a sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels which are stopped by four-piston monobloc brake calipers.

Inside, the cabin is outfitted with leather/Alcantara sport seats, carbon fiber trim and an infotainment system with GPS navigation and a data logger.

Honda still refrained from mentioning what powers the concept, but the other CR-Z Mugen has a supercharged 1.5-liter engine which is paired to an IMA hybrid system. Boasting a combined output of 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque, the car accelerates from 0-60 mph in approximately 6.6 seconds.

Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept

Honda has surprised crowds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this past weekend with a another CR-Z Concept. Following the MUGEN CR-Z Concept design study model, this second model designated "RR" represents a more race focused version.

The MUGEN CR-Z Concept RR features an exclusive body kit including a front aero bumper, front aero fenders, side spoilers, rear aero bumper, rear wing and specially developed 18-inch wheels.

Mugen makes no mention of performance specs, but we already know the MUGEN CR-Z design concept features a supercharged 1.5-liter engine and an IMA hybrid system good for 200 PS (147 kW / 197 hp) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque. Acceleration from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) comes in at roughly 6.6 seconds.
