Audi RS3 Sportback by Oettinger

Oettinger has infused a substantial amount of power in an Audi RS3 Sportback which now offers performances very similar to the R8 supercar.

There are numerous aftermarket packages out there for the RS3 from various tuners and now we are ready to add another one to the list. Meet Oettinger’s four-stage boost for Audi’s reputable turbocharged 2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine. While the stock version of the unit churns an already impressive 367 horsepower (270 kilowatts) and 343 pound-feet (465 newton meters) of torque, the stage 1 kit takes it to 430 hp & 461 lb-ft.
What we are seeing in the attached images is the stage 2 program which takes the five-banger to 520 hp (382 kW) and 501 lb-ft (680 Nm). The added punch cuts the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint time from the series 4.3 seconds to 3.3 - 3.5 seconds, depending on wheels and tires. For the sake of comparison, a second-gen R8 V10 completes the task in 3.5 seconds whereas the Audi R8 V10 Plus does it in 3.2 seconds.
As for top speed, Oettinger says the 155-mph electronic top speed limiter has been removed to unlock a maximum velocity of 193 mph (310 kph) which makes it almost as fast as the 200-mph R8 V10. The extra muscle was obtained by modifying the turbocharger, installing a sport filter, and optimizing the intake. In addition, the engineers also fiddled with the engine’s ECU and mounted a bespoke exhaust system with valve control to deliver a more powerful soundtrack.
Depending on the selected down pipe, the tuner is asking between $9,377 (€8,295) and $11,745 (€10,390) for the stage 2 kit. If you want even more power, a more expensive stage 3 program will take the 2.5-liter unit to 650 hp (478 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). The cream of the crop is an insane stage 4 tuning package which is downright spectacular as it upgrades the engine to a Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce-matching 750 hp (551 kW) while torque jumps to 664 lb-ft (900 Nm).
This is without any shadow of a doubt one of the most impressive tuning kits tailored to the RS3 and hopefully someday we’ll get to find out performance details for the stage 4 kit.
