Carlsson is presenting at IAA in
Frankfurt its new aftermarket program for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class
which will be available starting next month. After preparing the B-Class last month, Carlsson is ready to show a similar package for its smaller brother, the A-Class.
Noticeable exterior changes include a new front spoiler with a
different grille for the air intake. It's compatible with all versions
of the A-Class (including the AMG Sport version) and so are the
redesigned side skirts and rear apron which has an air diffuser.
The new exhaust provides an extra 3 bhp (2.2 kW) and comes with four
polished tailpipes with silencer. Carlsson lowered the German hatchback
by 35mm and can fit the car with an optional fully adjustable coilover
suspension kit. Various wheel designs in sizes ranging from 18 to 20
inches are available, along with an extensive interior customization
program providing new leather upholsteries, floor mats, alloy footrests,
pedals, door-lock pins and polished door sill panels which can be
illuminated.
In terms of power, the A 200 with its standard 156 HP (115 kW) and
250 Nm (184 lb-ft) can be modified to develop 187 HP (138 kW) and 300 Nm
(221 lb-ft) of torque. In addition, output of the A 250 model can rise
from 211 HP (155 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) to 253 HP (186 kW) and 420
Nm (310 lb-ft).
