Brabus has introduced a new tuning program for the Mercedes GL63 AMG. Looking decidedly aggressive, the model has been equipped with a wide
body kit that includes modified bumpers, extended wheel arches and a
tailgate-mounted spoiler. The crossover also has a rear diffuser, a
stainless steel sports exhaust system, high-performance brakes and a
suspension lowering module that reduces the ride height by approximately
30mm (1.2 inches). Last but not least, the model can be equipped with 21-, 22- or 23-inch alloy wheels that can be outfitted with either Yokohama or Pirelli tires.
Interior changes are limited but Brabus adds alloy pedals, aluminum
shift paddles and a 320 km/h (200 mph) speedometer. Customers can also
order illuminated sill plates, exotic wood trim and bespoke leather or
Alcantara upholstery.
The twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine has been equipped with a 620
PowerXtra kit that enables the mill to produce 620 HP (456 kW) and 820
Nm (604 lb-ft) of torque - an increase of 63 HP (46 kW) and 60 Nm (44
lb-ft). This enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7
seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 280 km/h (174
mph).
